Most Daikin systems in Hayward homes are inverter-driven: ducted air conditioners such as the DX20VC, the compact Fit system, and ductless mini-splits including the Aurora series. What Daikin service involves
Power before parts. Inverter boards do not tolerate surges, low voltage or loose connections. The technician checks the supply voltage, the disconnect and the terminals at the outdoor unit and reads the stored fault codes before condemning a board. A board that failed because of a burnt connection will fail again if only the board is changed.
The exact charge. Daikin inverter systems are charged to a precise amount for the length of the refrigerant lines. “Topping off” a system that is low does not fix it, because there is a leak somewhere. A proper repair finds it (often at a flare joint on a ductless system, or in a coil), repairs it, holds a vacuum and weighs in the specified charge.

- A manufacturer warranty covers the part. Labor, refrigerant and the visit are normally not included unless your installer added a labor warranty of their own.
- Inverter boards, sensors and fan motors are matched to the model and serial number. There is no generic substitute for an inverter board, so a board may have to be ordered.
- Goodman and Amana belong to the Daikin group, but each line has its own parts; the data plate on your outdoor unit decides what is ordered.
Repair or replace?
Many Daikin inverter systems are still fairly young, and a board, a sensor or a leaking flare joint is a normal repair on equipment that otherwise runs well. Replacement deserves a real comparison when the inverter compressor fails out of warranty on an older system, when a coil leak comes back, or when boards keep failing even after the power supply has been put right.
